Google Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro: New Design, Price, Details

Google Pixel 9 Pro with Flat Edges, New Camera Design.

Just like every other year, Google Pixel is leaked once again months before its official announcement. Renders of Google Pixel 9 Pro are now out in public, thanks to Steve H.McFly (@OnLeaks). Based on these render we’re expecting a complete design change this year from Google for its Pixel lineup.

Google Pixel 9 Pro: New Design

Here it is, Leaked renders of Pixel 9 Pro shows almost every detail of the upcoming Google Pixel 9 Pro while giving you an idea of what the regular Pixel 9 would look like which we might see very soon as well. It seems Google is taking a fresh design approach for their Pixel phones.

A Sleek Redesign with a Flat Corners

Say goodbye to the curved edges of the Pixel 8 Pro! The 9 Pro is embracing a flatter form factor, sporting a roughly 6.5-inch display that’s smaller than its predecessor. The bezels on Pixel 9 Pro get slimmer too, giving the phone a sleeker overall profile.

Google isn’t reinventing the wheel entirely. The signature centered punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera stays in the center, and the familiar button placement remains โ€“ power and volume buttons on the right, clean lines on the left. The bottom houses the usual suspects: USB-C port, speaker grille, and SIM card tray.

The Pixel 9 Pro also sheds some bulk, rocking a smaller 6.5-inch flat display compared to its predecessor’s 6.8-inch panel.

Measurements for Pixel 9 Pro are 162.7 x 76.6 x 8.5 mm, which increases to 12.0 mm if you include the camera bump.

Newly Designed Camera Bar On The Back

The rear camera island undergoes a subtle redesign, ditching the integrated look of the Pixel 8 Pro for a more compact package.

We’re expecting a triple-camera arrangement just like previous generation, likely featuring a standard wide angle sensor, ultra-wide, and rumors suggest a periscope telephoto lens joining the party for those extra-distant shots.

The camera bump seems sizeable, hinting at the potential for a variable aperture system that physically adjusts the lens opening for better low-light performance.

Google Pixel 9: Featuring Triple Camera Setup

Just like Pixel 9 Pro, we’re expecting changes to the regular more compact Pixel 9. It also gets Flat side profile while retaining its compact form factor.

For the first time it seems like there will be three cameras on the back of the Pixel 9 as well. So we might be seeing a telephoto lens for the first time on Google Pixel 9.

It will also have 6.1 Inch display like the previous generation along with centered hole punch camera on the display.

Renders of Google Pixel 9 are in Blue color, but we expect there will be more options as well.

It seems like Google is trying to bring more and more similarity to both Pixel flagship phones while keeping its A series phones for budget segment. It does seem like a good deal for those who want all the pro features on a ‘compact’ phone though which includes me as well.

Measurements for Pixel 9 are 152.8 x 71.9 x 8.5mm, which increases to 12.0mm if you include the camera bump similar to Pixel 9 Pro.

Google Pixel 9 Performance, Chipset, AI Features

Both Pixels are expected to pack the next-gen Tensor chipset, promising improved performance and AI prowess. Upgraded cameras are a given, and with Google’s track record in computational photography, we can anticipate some impressive imaging magic.

While these renders give us a solid glimpse of the Pixel 9 Pro’s design, the full picture remains under wraps.
